Fashion and Its Many Details.

I see myself walking on a sidewalk packed with a miraculous amount of rushing people in a busy city, all having places to go. In my eyes, I don’t see the obvious, which is the fact that these people are all headed to their destinations, but I’m glancing at the various styles of clothing and different ensembles that they are each wearing. The black quilted Chanel bag hung hip side by a gold chain strap the lady on the corner waiting for a taxi is carrying catches my eye, whether than noticing the crosswalk light change on my side of the street. Maybe even the CQ Magazine that a rushed businessman is carrying on his way to work. These sort of things spark my interest incredibly. I have always been taken away by the mere concept of fashion and its importance to the world. Many people believe that fashion just consist of clothing that we wear, however, it means so much more than that. So many little details take place. In almost every aspect of life I see creativity and I enjoy expressing it. From a young age I had always been curious about how clothing is made, or how it gets presented to the world, how its prices are configured or how a mall decides on which pieces will be displayed in its stores. Fashion Merchandising/Marketing shall be the answer to my questions. I plan to show why certain things in the fashion world are done the way they are and how fashion and clothing gets so successful to its consumers in our world today.

  1. Who was the first truly influential, modern fashion merchandiser? How did he/she influence the fashion world? It looks like you're headed in the right direction, and more reading and research will only help you solidify a great working thesis.
