Tips and Turns and Still Some Fun.

This weekend was full of events! Friday night I went from attending a fanatic packed basketball game, to spliting up with my boyfriend and coping with a big meal at a nice diner with the girls. I spent the night at my best friend's house and stayed up past midnight catching up with her. We were suppose to attend her birthday celebration at 5pm at Dave n Buster's on Saturday, sadly, our plans caught a major monkey-wrench and resulted in a trip to the hospital and 8 stitches in her ear. Fortunately, we got to her party at a reasonable time and were able to enjoy ourselves. Oh, and my boyfriend and I resolved our problems there as well and we're going to live happily ever after. We're going to skip pass Sunday so I can inform you all about my wonderful Martin Luther King Day. Many people fail to realize that it isn't just 'A Day Off' but it is a 'Day of Service'. I was up bright and early 7am Sunday morning to find any coats I knew I didn't wear anymore to take to the coat drive in Philadelphia with my uncle. I donated them and headed over to West Phila. to volunteer my time at a 'A Place Like Home', a Senior Citizen DayCare where we did activities, interacted, spent time, and fed the Senior's. It was amazing getting to see how everyone will eventually become a child again once they get older. I appreciated being around so much wisdom and knowledge and began to understand some of the hardships that they had throughout their lives. One woman stated how she came on a bus from DC to New York to hear Dr. King speak and he had died while she was travelling. That in itself shows how the use of phones and technology has changed over time. It was great to have an eye-opener. We left the facilities around 1pm and headed to the 'Famous 4th Street Deli' http://www.famous4thstreetdelivatessen.com/ on 4th St. in Downtown Phila. (where the sandwiches are almost bigger than your head) to endulge in a scrumptious lunch. After stuffing myself, I went back home to reminisce about my eventful weekend.
p.s. look how big that sandwich is!

  1. What can I say that I didn't say to your face. Thanks for being one of the first students to use personal pics to augment a blog.
