Chapter 12 in the novel relates me in a way. In chapter 12 Amir finds out that Baba has cancer. Baba would continue to refuse to get help from a professional or a doctor. He continued to resfuse and was put in the hospital. A personal hardship of mine that connects with this reflects on the health of my grandfather. He has had many ups and downs with his health but is very stubborn when it comes to buckling down and trying to do what is right, health-wise, for himself. This often makes me frustrated and confused about why he just doesn't act on it as quickly as the rest if the family would like him to. I believe that this is the same way the narrator felt.
