Gossamer - Connect Yourself.

Gossamer: Something light, delicate, or insubstantial.

-------------------------------

This word was one that I had submitted once towards the beginning of Senior Project class when we were assigned vocab. word searches weekly. This word can have so many meanings to it. Honestly, I had forgotten about it until it was brought to my attention by Mr. Abrams. He had informed me that he had been reading Wednesday's paper and had ran into the Style & Soul section, where the title read 'Sheer Gladness' and immediately thought of me when he noticed the word gossamer located at the top of the following page. 'More Transparency: Garments Go Gossamer-Light'. The article talked about the new trend with sheer clothing. Mostly blouses and tops were pictured in the paper in a variety of styles such as long, short and capped sleeved. Yet, each of them were neutral colored and seemed quite 'flowy'. Under each item there was a description that gave and explained a way to wear the piece along with the price it was selling for and where. The article informed its readers that 'Fashionistas can bring those yesteryear styles up to date by layering the tops over tanks.' Which adds a bit of flare. It was great to see a full article based on a word that I had simply just come across and not only was it that word, it was using it in a way that represented fashion. Thanx Mr. A!♥

Boutique Adventure #10

"Everyone here at Beaute' Ange' would love to thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special occasion! Have fun, be safe and live life. Don't forget to send us a pic! -Beaute' Ange'."
That short yet sincere statement is what each customer who has purchased a dress from the store recieves on a Beaute' Ange' postcard, along with a personal greeting like, ''Hi Cierra!" along the top. I was able to do this on hand on my last visit to the store. It was a little slow in business, so my sponsor felt it was a great time to get some 'Thank You' notes done to send out. I was informed before that they do this to make the customer feel appreciated and more importantly, comfortable to come back again. Because lets face it, there are other stores around who can have our business. It isn't an obligation for the customer to not only come in, but purchase something from the store. So, we thank them for letting us be a part of their special affair. More and more I begin to realise that it is so many ways to get AND keep a customers happy and satisfied by the 'small things'. ♥
(BTW, I added the address onto the back of the card above. ;])

Mickey Does Miami!

As mentioned in an earlier post, I am quite fond of another blog by the name of Don't Trip Yet, which is ran by a hand-full of girls. I thought it was such a co-inky-dink that there was a new post up about Mickey Mouse and his resurface to the fashion world. Being that it is so close to SENIOR TRIP time, it fits great together for a blog of my own choice. :) Okay, so this all in one gymnast suit may be a little much or risqué to actually wear as an everyday outfit, but, the vintage look is definitely an adrenaline pumper and brings out the kid in all of us. Ask mom what she did with her Mickey visor, jacket, or Mickey ears cap. Everyone knows that what was old will most definitely be new again. I don't see myself walking around with my tushie out just to sport the fine mouse himself, but please don't be surprised if I arrive back home off the trip equipped with a funky piece of Mickey apparel to add a little vintage and now, modern, flare to my closet.♥

Boutique Adventure #9

Before I got to my internship I stopped to Starbucks and got my sponsor a treat. The weather was farely beautiful and it felt good to actually see the town full of life and seeing exactly how people browse, windowshop, (or shop), and simply enjoy themselves and the excitement that Haddonfield has to offer. As soon as I walked in I saw a handful of girls all on the lefthand side of the boutique browsing the gowns that covered the walls. I could see that my sponsor was busy so I hurried to put my things down and try my best to help. I asked the girls if they were prom gown shopping, what school they attended, when the prom was, exactly what sort of dress they were looking for, long or short. Before I knew it, I had started the girls a fitting room, each with a handful of dresses and began to help zip, tuck and snap them in when needed and gave them my honest opinion of how they looked. Let's just say that there was definitely a prom gown purchase soon-after ;). Maybe it was the way I welcomed them, or maybe the interest that I showed towards each or their special occasions. I'm definitely getting the hang of this. After my intern, I decided to walk around for a bit and not just go home immediately after I was done. I wanted to feel like the people I had mentioned earlier who were enjoying the lovely weather and the beautiful shoppes that the town has to offer. After my little 'roam' I noticed that there is a variety of different stores. From sidewalk restaurants, to bathing suit stores, to shoe stores, Ice Creameries, bike stores, Irish stores, (kiss me =]), candy stores, DRESS STORES, (hmmm a little competition never hurts ayee?) and much more. It was great to take a look around the place I'm actually beginning to grow very fond of. Actually, it was quite lovely.♥

Connect Me To Your LOVE!

I've made a connection to myself and life, with something that I'm sure other people have come to realize. I believe that love, passion and determination are all one in the same. I believe the reason each one of my classmates and I chose the certain topic and/or field that we chose was because we either, one, have some sort of interest in it, two, have some sort of passion or love for it, and three, we're determined to figure out and learn more about this thing that we plan to be focusing most of our time and dedication on in either our regular everyday lives or careers. I love style and fashion. Point, blank, period. I have a passion for putting things together, outfits, styles, trends, magazine clippings, pictures, old with new, flattering with, well, not so much. However, to me it is all one major part of my life and I have grown to learn that I truly have a passion for clothing and its importance to individuality and appearance and I am quite determined to feed my love and passion for it as often as I possibly can.♥

It's My World, My Fabulosity, MY CHOICE! ;)

Her name is Rissa, and she started it all. Not my cupcake madness, oh no, not that. That craziness was deinitely created myself LOL! :) BUT, indeed she created my addicition of cupcake jewelry making, I mentioned this in an earlier post. I remember viewing her cupcake necklace products online about a year ago on a webite called Don't Trip Yet, (http://dont-trip-yet.blogspot.com/) another one of my favorite blogs, and fell in love. I've followed her ever since. Miraculously, I taught myself how to make cupcake jewelry myself after a lot of trial and error and tweaking and turning. I haven't quite mastered it yet, but I'm getting quite close. Hopefully, I can get some pictures of my successful pieces sometime soon and you guys can be my critics. Don't forget to take a look at the links mentioned above. ♥

Skip, Skip, Skip to My Loooo. (Aventure #7)

This adventure went quite well. I got to watch first hand how customers actually compliment Mrs. Joann about her creative work on the store and how they would most definitely refer their friends and family to come in because of its appearance. (37 word sentence Mr. A!) I also got to see how someone can order a dress by merely explaining what they want and be able to get assistance with it at the drop of a dime. Great customer service is the BEST! I'm glad to be interning there. :) ♥

NYLON MAG! (Connection)

Up top is an image of an issue of NYLON Magazine. It has got to be one of my favorite magazines, ever! Its bright and ferocious covers often attracts the reader first out of all its competition on a newstand. They have some of the best stories, fashion tips, trends, photography and awesome celebrities that the world of media and magazines has to offer! Of course, I am a subscriber to their issues, as well as Teen Vogue and Seventeen, and this mag has got to be one of my favorites! I've realized that this magazines relates to my project in a way and I can connect to it because of the way it 'Lures' its reader in to read it by constantly having eye catching covers and great stories to read. ♥

Diamonds are Foreverrrrrr. (Choice)

This phrase or song, as you could say, has been in my head for maybe the past week or so. After having it be repeated in my head constantly I have come to a conclusion that it means so much. 'Diamons are Forever'. They are, they are the strongest gem and can withstand any pressure, they can go through any fight. They shine brightly and remain beautiful at the dimmest and darkest times. In contrast to cheaper or fake gems, these beauties have a inner value and can often be used to portray love, exquisiteness, strength and preserverance. I believe I can say that I can compare myself to one of these fine jewels. Strong, lovely, beautiful . . . . Priceless. ♥
